Sri Sivasubramaniya Swamy
With Sri Valli & Sri Devasenai — the Lord of Courage, Wisdom and Victory
Sri Sivasubramaniya Swamy, also revered as Murugan, Skanda and Kartikeya, represents divine wisdom, courage, youthful strength and victory over forces that obstruct dharma.
At Natpukovil, the Lord is envisioned in majestic Raja Alangaram, accompanied by His divine consorts Sri Valli and Sri Devasenai — courage guided by wisdom, devotion united with divine grace, and harmony in spiritual and family life.

The sacred Vel
A symbol of knowledge overcoming ignorance
According to the tradition of Murugan’s battle with Surapadman, the divine Vel is given to Him by His mother, Goddess Parvati, for His mission against the asura.
Its sharp point reminds us that wisdom must be clear. Its strength reminds us that faith must remain steady. And its presence in Murugan’s hand reminds us that difficulties can be faced with courage and divine guidance.
